Album Review

Providing two discs of hits, Essential is the first major *NSYNC hits collection since Greatest Hits, a single compendium that appeared in 2005 just after the group parted ways. Essential digs much deeper than its predecessor, providing all the big hits in their single versions — "Bye Bye Bye," "It's Gonna Be Me," "Pop," "Girlfriend," etc. — and it also adds album tracks, soundtrack contributions, and, especially, oddball duets, ranging from "God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You" performed with Alabama to "Trashin' the Camp," a Phil Collins collaboration from the Tarzan soundtrack. If these deep cuts appeal to you, Essential is the *NSYNC comp to get: it captures all the hits and hubris of their glory years. If all you need are the songs that were on Total Request Live, stick with Greatest Hits.

Customer Reviews

*NSYNC All the way.

They are one of the best boy bands of the late 90s and early 2000s they made history with hits like Bye Bye , it's gonna be me , This I Promise You and many more, Justin Timberlake it's now the biggest pop stars in the whole world he is the President Of Pop but all that success started when he joined *NSYNC. I will always be a fan of *NSYNC and JT because music doesn't have a expiration date.

Amazing

I have pieced together my NSYNC song collection over the years to where I possess each one of these songs released. Still didn't keep me from buying the album to support NSYNC! I'm excited for everyone else to hear the European versions, the Disney covers, the hard-to-find songs and especially the performance on Sesame Street (which I distinctly remember watching just for NSYNC)!

If you loved NSYNC "back in the day" you'll love "The Essential NSYNC." Chock full of 17 gems people who only bought the NSYNC albums have never heard, remixes, and my favorite, Thinking Of You, aka the European version of I Drive Myself Crazy. Do as they say and Buy Buy Buy!

Best boy band to exist

Nsync is way better than any artist today

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Along with the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears, *NSYNC dominated the teen pop explosion of the late '90s with a blend of group harmonies, gauzy ballads, and well-produced dance textures. Although the group emerged in 1996 in Orlando, FL, singers JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake had previously co-starred on The Mickey Mouse Club before relocating to Nashville, where they worked on solo projects with the same vocal coach and songwriters. Timberlake soon returned to Orlando, where he befriended Chris...
