Reseña de álbum

As MxPx gets increasingly mainstream, the more they downplay their image as a Christian band. However with The Ever Passing Moment, the band's second for A&M Records, the lyrics focus on themes which are not Christian rock per se, but definitely have some leanings in that direction. Before punk fans go running for the hills, it is important to note that these themes are not as in your face as most Christian music. In fact the messages of being true to yourself on the track "Prove It to the World" and not doing something just because its trendy on "Next Big Thing" are hard to distinguish from regular punk songs. There are no mentions of God or Jesus Christ, just uplifting sentiments that make the album stand out from the standard mainstream punk of bands like Green Day and blink-182. Beyond this, the album is, in essence, radio friendly punk with hard driving drumbeats and three chord guitar licks, and just maybe, its good for the soul.

Good Album!

I do not agree with what the review says when it says as MXPX gets more mainstream they try to downplay there christian image, It was christians who bought there albums in the first place when they wear with the christian label Tooth & Nails This album is loaded with christian lyrics just cause it does not say GOD or Jesus in every song does not mean its not christian.

Surprisingly Good

I'll be totally honest and say that I am no longer the biggest fan of MXPX. I miss the hard edge that has been missing from their music recently. However, this album is a brief glimpse at what drew me to them in the first place. I feel like the songwriting on this album surpasses that off the two follow up albums and the music itself mirrors their earlier efforts. 'My Life Story' and 'Buildings Tumble' rank up there with their better cuts. I want to put 'Responsibility' up there with them, but I think the song is a little beneath them as they are nearing thirty. I am glad to see 'Educated Guess' here, too, though I prefer the B-side version. While things would go downhill for me after this album, I still find myself drawn to The Ever Passing Moment. If only I could forget the brutally awful Before Everything, and After I might still be a big fan.

MxPx Rocks Out Loud

Yes They Do They Rock Out Hard... and what? There a Cristian Rock Band??? EVEN COOLER!!! Definitely Buy This CD... and learn the ways of the punk/cristian gods

The Christian-themed punk-pop outfit MxPx formed in 1993 in Bremerton, WA. Originally dubbed Magnified Plaid, the group launched while its three members — vocalist/bassist Mike Herrera, drummer Yuri Ruley, and guitarist Andy Husted — were still attending high school. The moniker was later shortened to MxPx after Ruley abbreviated the name on some show flyers; poor handwriting saw the periods being interpreted as x's instead, and the name stuck. Wielding an energetic sound that was...
