Album Review

An interesting if predictable compilation, touching most of the key parts of the composer's 1960 output.

Leave the Album Alone!

Ummm.... where'd the rest of this album go??!! Last time I bought "The James Bond Theme" from this album and was planning to buy the orchestrated version of "Goldfinger" too, but somehow parts of the album just "dissapeared" mysteriously. I think once iTunes puts an album on they should leave it on and leave it alone!! I've had this happen more than once.

This album is great, but it's missing one of the best songs

I love this album, John Barry is the man. It has such great variety. I would give it 5 stars but since it's only the partial album, it's missing something very important, which is the Goldfinger instrumental. I think it was originally the last track. In my opinion, that's the best song I have ever heard from John Barry, specifically the version that's suppose to be on this particular album. I've heard other versions before but that one is my favorite. I used to have the cd, but lost it, so I really hope they release the full version of this on itunes eventually.

John Barry was one of the best-known composers of soundtrack music of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, but his career carried him through a multitude of music genres and styles. He was best-known in film in connection with his work on the James Bond pictures, but Barry was also the holder of five Academy Awards, none of them for the Bond movies. Born Free (for which he won Oscars for Best Score and Best Song), The Lion in Winter, Out of Africa, and Dances with Wolves are hardly unknown films...
