EDITORS’ NOTES

Based in Las Vegas, Dizzy Wright got his start as a child rapper with the group DaFuture. After a well-received performance on 106 & Park, a winning turn at the Rip the Mic competition, and making the impressive mixtape Soul Searchin' Next Level, he signed with Funk Volume Records and dropped his official debut album, Smokeout Conversations, on 4/20 of 2012. Produced by SupaHotBeats, Kato, and ThirdEye, The First Agreement is a short-but-sweet eight-track EP that showcases Dizzy's mellow, clever, and highly likeable flow over a an assortment of quality beats. The lead single "Fly High" (featuring Nikkiya) finds him rhyming about loving his daughter and slinging sacks out of a Honda Civic, all over a sublimely funky old-school R&B guitar lick. "Hotel Stripper" sports freaky synth-chimes and minimalist 808 drums. Other highlights include the dreamy, Devin the Dude–esque "Shotgun Kisses" and the blues-driven "End of Times."
