Customer Reviews

Now this is Hip Hop

As a devoted fan of Deep Foundation I may be a little biased, but this is a review from the heart. This is Deep Foundation's long awaited first album and it does not disappoint. These Queens and New Jersey based MCs really know how to rock the mic while keeping their messages strong. From Children of the Sun, a song that hits close to their Filipino roots, to the crazy hook of Wildlife, this album will not disappoint fans of true rap artistry. Featuring other great Filipino MCs like Hydroponikz, who also produced some of the albums illest beats, to Gifted and Koba Sounds, this album is a must for any fan of what true hip hop should be. Don't forget to check out Sleep which features another great Filipino artist Jay Legaspi. The song, about the lengths a father goes to to protect his family, is both touching and sad.

Good Stuff!

I wouldn’t call these guys Filipino rappers. I would describe them as very talented and real MC’s that have an obvious love for the art, and the ability to put some clever lyrics to some hot beats mixed with some velvet (Ashley Robles) vocals. They just happen to be Filipino. Although the cultural pride is evident, I don’t believe you have to be a Filipino to enjoy it. Well worth the $9.99 Pinoy or not! If you happen to be a Filipino, you gotta get it. Children of the Sun (bonus) is the track to bump while fixin a fresh batch of chicken adobo, or while watching Manny Pacquiao K.O. his next victim F-I-L-I-P-I-N-O!

Good for their first

F-I-L-I-P-I-N-O is all I gotta say. Great album and very excited for the next!
