“Disco disappeared, didn’t it? Everyone got sick of it. Now I’m reviving it, with space goggles, or something.” So says 23-year old Scotsman Calvin Harris, who allegedly created this collection of ‘80s-styled dance numbers on an “ancient” Amiga computer in his bedroom. Ok, MySpace stories and label hype aside, this guy is a wizard and if you don’t believe us, just try to resist tracks like “The Girls” or “Acceptable in the ‘80s” with their glossy synths, crisp percussion and perfectly paced BPMs. Slow it down a tad and invite Beck and LCD to the party with “Merrymaking at My Place,” and “Vegas.” Clever lyrics abound, complete with cheeky nods to naughty nightclubbing rituals. But you’ve been warned: you’ll be doing the bump to “Disco Heat” before you’ve had a chance to spit-polish those silver vintage platforms in the back of your closet.
O~M~G!` CALVIN HARRIS IS FINALLY ON ITUNES! THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST ALBUM EVAH! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ACCEPTABLE IN THE 80s AND THE GIRLS THE GIRLS IS NO DOUBT ONE OF THE BEST SONGS EVER CREATED IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING BUYING THIS ALBUM, JUST DO IT YOU WON'T REGRET IT! I LOVE YOU, CALVIN! YOU CREATED DISCO! *if you enjoy this music i would also recommend checking out girls aloud* : )))))
This is what Kanye is trying to do with that Daft punk song
Who cares about 50 cent and Kanye when you have this album. Kills both of them. I will remember songs from this album and ill forget most of 50 and Kanye album. This album is timeless. Just u wait.
This is a very fun album, but not something I could listen to over and over and over just because there isn't that much of a difference/variability between the songs. Definitely something to have in rotation though, very slick.
