"Classic and Timeless"

This album defines “Classic and Timeless”. Anne Hampton Callaway just takes your breath away with her range and depth of sound. The grace in which she interprets this music in nothing less than amazing. Thank you Ann for another wonderful album that will be played many many times over, and now on my new Nano!!! Manny

Deliciously smooth

I'm embarrassed to admit that the only reason I even know who Ann Hampton Callaway IS is because of a love affair I used to have with Fran Drescher. (of the TV show "The Nanny Named Fran") And when I heard the theme song, I became OBSESSED with finding out who performed that song with SUCH deftness, musicality, and style!!! (NOT an easy song to perform!!!) And because I've lived here in New York City all my adult life, when I found out it was this amazing singer, I realized I already knew her name! But I had no idea she was sooooo incredibly talented! What impresses me the most about Ms. Callaway is not just the tone and sound of her voice, but her RANGE is pretty impressive too. This woman can SING. (Or if you're from my black Baptist church, she can "SANG"!) So Madame Callaway, if you should ever see this review, you are absolutely NOT, as you suggest in song #6, "Too White to Sing the Blues". (LOL)

Exceptional without a doubt!

This is truly one of my best purchases for 2006! Although difficult to select because all the songs are amazing, Blues in the Night and Blue Moon are two of my favorites! The Diva Jazz Orchestra complements Ms. Callaway’s voice wonderfully. I certainly recommend this album to everyone who enjoys great vocals and soul in their music. I’m excited to see what she comes up with next!
