EDITORS’ NOTES

Parts of Oddisee’s latest confront Trump’s America: “How you gonna make us great when we were never really all that amazing?” But the DC rapper sees little renewed cause for concern: “I’m from black America/This is just another year,” he raps on “NNGE”. Not that the familiarity of oppression blunts his fight. Over funky, soulful tracks, he addresses the sexism (“Hold It Back”) and police brutality (“You Grew Up”) that stifle his simple hope: “I just wanna be free.”

Five stars for an evolving talent and body of work.

I just can't grasp how people continue to do themselves the disservice of not listening to Oddisee. Creative, quality production combined with heart and truly insightful lyrics executed with uncomparable skill. His first releases are objectively more relevant and well done than any rap album you'll see on the itunes home page. But over the course of his career he's just become a god of an artist while not relying on a template and having no budget.

Knifennick ,

You grew up regret

Random crap song at the end for another minute and a half, ruins replay ability

Andyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ,

Not good

I tried giving this artist a chance, listened to a few songs and I’m sorry, I can’t at all say this is good music.
