The lifelong rocker teams up here in Rome with producer Robert Rose (Julian Lennon, Steve Jones) and a solid backing band in bassist Nigel Harrison (Blondie), guitarist Dani Robinson, and drummer Clive Deamer (Portishead, Robert Plant); he knocks out Linda Perry’s “I Can’t Get You Off My Mind” and the cowrite “I Want Love to Punch Me in the Face” with all the determination and charisma he showed as the devious, cheeky rocker who once tormented the staff of WKRP in Cincinnati.
