great songwriter turned karaoke act

Seems like a very long time ago that Julia was an original compelling songwriter ... I was excited to hear she had a new album and so sad to see it was a bunch of covers of old songs that border on jazz karaoke. If you are curious about this artist then buy the old original stuff - and try not to feel sad about the endless re-cycling and dirge-like cover songs that follow.
