Great Soundtrack...Even Better Show

Yesterday evening, I went to a performance of The Last Ship in NYC. I couldn't have better things to say about it. I knew I would've regretted not seeing these songs performed live. The score was great!! The characters (with our without Sting) were what Broadway is all about. They performed their hearts out. Similar to Bridges of Madison County, I'll be listening to this soundtrack from front to back for a long time to come!! Michael Esper was incredibly passionate and made me want to hug him. Rachel Tucker, Aaron Lazar and company were on top of their game. Fred Applegate made you laugh, made you cry and sang beautifully! This is a must see show!!

Beautiful score & story

I wish I had the chance to see this production, but it closed way too soon. Ahead of its time. Please consider a revival Sting!

The High Note in Sting’s Career

I was prepared to like—not love—this recording. I figured it would be good; I’ve always enjoyed Sting’s songwriting. But I didn’t expect it to be great. In fact, it’s majestic—music, lyrics, story, and every last vocal performance. No wonder Sting has done everything in his power to draw audiences to this show, including stepping into a major role this past month. Sadly, we already know the show is scheduled to close on Broadway (while stupid Aladdin will run for decades to come). Luckily, though, the musical performances are captured here so radiantly and touchingly. I don’t write a lot of iTunes reviews, but this recording deserves the attention of any potential fans. You’ll absolutely love it.
