iTunes Review

After hearing a few songs reinvented on the GRAMMY®-winning Both Sides Now, Joni Mitchell again teamed up with conductor/arranger Vince Mendoza to re-explore her entire catalog with a fearlessness that few (if any) other modern performers dare. Obviously, her early songs have changed from songs of innocence to experience, but nothing suppresses the shock when hearing the voice that greets us for “The Last Time I Saw Richard,” originally from 1970’s Blue. Deeper, wiser, and not about to get sucked up in the drama that once was, Mitchell redoes her catalog from start (“The Circle Game”) to end (“Borderline”).

Thank You, Joni

Thank you, Miss Mitchell, for your glorious artistry. This Travelogue is wonderous. I just wish the journey could go on forever.

The single most amazing, heartbreaking, joyous, momentous album I will ever own.

The most moving album of Joni Mitchell's career

I always have loved Joni Mitchell's voice, and if anyone had told me 20 years ago that her voice would only get better as she got older, I would have laughed.  She no longer has that perky purity she had when she was young, and you hear the edges, and roughness from years of smoking, but was has emerged is something move moving and deep than before.  This is clearly a late in life work, like Beethoven's late string quartets, re-evaluating what she has done in her life, and finding something infinately profound.  From "Chelsea Morning" to this album--what a career!

No female artist better typified the singer/songwriter movement of the '70s than Joni Mitchell, though her public image as the serious, sensitive woman with a guitar shortchanged her abilities, ambitions, and accomplishments. Mitchell's gift for writing personal, folk-inspired songs about the thorny side of life and love was inarguable (particularly on albums like 1970's Ladies of the Canyon and 1971's Blue), but Mitchell also brought the same smarts and eloquence to glossy pop on her commercial...
