21 Songs, 1 Hour 3 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

The breadth of the work Johnny Cash created is astounding, yet this collection impressively chronicles decades of his twists and turns in just 21 tracks. It moves from the foundational rockabilly of "Hey Porter" to the proto-outlaw country of "Folsom Prison Blues" and the sociopolitical commentary of "Man in Black" and beyond, perfectly limning the country giant's path. By the time the tracklist turns to his comeback period, with revelatory reboots of Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage" and Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt," the distance traversed is remarkable.

A collection of classics by a master in his field

Wow! For this Mad Cow to insult a legend like Johnny Cash without the background, intelligence or knowledge of history is an insult to all who write, sing & produce such music. He then goes on to insult his own heritage by mocking the fact that his grandfather (in theory) fought for our freedom during WWI. What an inept, insulting, inbred fool. The songs on this album represent the finest from a musician who spent his life entertaining millions. It is his music that paved the way for artists the likes of Eric Clapton, Blues Traveler and Tom Petty (not to mention 38 Special and Lynard Skynard). If you're going to review or critique an artist, judge him on his merits, his music and his achievements not his age and his musical style. This collection is some of the finest work put forth by Johnny Cash. A solid five star collection from the Man in Black.

first of all, johnny cash is the man. secondly theres no way that your 85 year old grandpa could tell you stories about world war 1. if he is 85 he would be born in 1920, ww1 was over by 1919...what an idiot.
