iTunes Review

Kylie Minogue was already a teenage TV star in Australia when she released her debut album, 1988's Kylie. Produced by the ‘80s hitmaking trio Stock-Aiken-Waterman, the album is bubbly and ultra-energized from start to finish. Critics couldn’t help comparing the disc to Madonna’s dance-pop records at the time—and to tell the truth, the resemblance is more than superficial. What makes the album distinctive is Minogue’s authentic personality, radiating young adult freshness rather than a jaded hipster sensuality. Kylie sounds genuinely caught up in waves of infatuation as she breezes her way through relentlessly upbeat tracks like “I Should Be So Lucky” (a No. 1 single in Australia, the U.K., and five other countries), “Turn It Into Love,” and “Love at First Sight.” She nestles comfortably into funkier fare (“It’s No Secret,” “Look My Way”) and rides a ‘60s retro groove with aplomb (“I Miss You”). Best of all is her smile-inducing cover of “The Loco-Motion,” driven home by a throbbing synth track. Kylie catches Minogue full of high spirits and remains one of her defining albums.

"I Should Be So Lucky . . . to Have Kylie's song on iTunes!" HA HA

Wow here it is, the first Kylie album that started it all. Now if I didn't already import this album a few years ago I would probably be jumping up and down right now. But since I'm glad it's here after reading request after request, I am still just as thrilled. This album features single "The Loco-Motion" which most USA folks should recognize. "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi", "Turn it into Love", and "It's no Secret" are probably the favorites by most European and USA fans. Fun fact about this ablum is the last track "Love At First Sight" also has the same name as the popular track on her 'Fever' ablum "Love At First Sight". My personal favorite on this album is "Turn It Into Love" and it was performed during Kylie's Showgirl Homecoming tour. She performed this song as an insert chorus in the middle of "Light Years" from the 'Light Years' album. Enough of this, Start Downloading!!! "I should be so lucky in love!"

OMG! Kylie's debut!

This is so cool! Her debut album! "The Loco-Motion", "I Should Be So Lucky", "Je Ne Sais Pais Pourquoi", 'It's No Secret", "Got To Be Certain", "Turn It Into Love" and "Love At First Sight" those are highlights! This album is really good and very hard to find on stores! Wow, I personally recomend this album if you like the 80's Bubblegum pop! I luv it!

Finally, iTunes did it!! After annoucing her new tour in America, iTunes finally did it!!!! Can't wait to get the all of the albums.

On the one hand, in the pop music arena, worldbeaters such as Kylie Minogue are few and far between. Singers and performers of her stature and popularity rarely maintain their power for as long as she has. Her streaks of number one singles in both Australia and the U.K. are nearly insurmountable. And yet, on the other hand, her inability to really crack open the American pop market over the course of her career is a story that is heard all too often from groups hailing from nations as pop powerful...
