For me, this is a flawless work of art and the best album of 2010 (as well as the best debut of a new band...Brooklyn's own....Kordan). There is such a multi-layer of dreamy, dark and futuristic sounds that this album feels like it is transporting you to a completely different time and place. The best quote that I read about Kordan is that the band has created the perfect music to play in an atmospheric world like that in the classic sci-fi film 'Blade Runner'. Comprised of Arthur (Vocals/Guitar), Liz (Vocals/Synth) and Gabo (Bass), Kordan does such an amazing job of producing this alternate reality of shoegaze electronica, that you would swear there are more than the three talented members of this band. Just buy this album, and either turn down the lights and chill, or drive really fast at night on an open highway, because Kordan will blow you away, and they get better with every listening!
I love this album
This album has not left the jump drive in my car stereo since I purchased it. I love the versatility of it. It definitely fits in the Shoegaze/Electronica category. If I was forced to compare them, I would describe it as REM meets Starflyer 59. With that said, they are definitely unique in sound and overall feel. Like the other reviewer said, it is exceptional chill music, but also great for staying awake driving 80 on the interstate music. I have used it for both. Intelligent, amazing music! If you have not done so already, get the faster version of "Fantasy Nation" from the Indie rock playlist.
