Melodic Post Rock Gem

This Will Destroy You has evolved into its own sound with this new LP. They took all the good parts of their old CD (Young Mountain) and sculpted a beautiful, if not completely trippy, landscape of sound that seems to combine obvious influences such as Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai with the textural and electronic workings of past Radiohead. Hats off to the new post rock maestros.


lately I was beginning to give up on music, and then came along This Will Destroy You with their second album. I am very impressed because I loved Young Mountain but this album just shows how much they have matured and have grown more complete. Love it.

Texas post-rock band This Will Destroy You formed in 2005. Members Chris King (guitars), Jeremy Galindo (guitars), Raymond Brown (bass), and Andrew Miller (drums) came together under the notion of pursuing a purely instrumental project, and recorded their demo -- which would end up being released as is -- shortly after getting together.
