The Music of Nashville (Original Soundtrack)

These songs were written by Hillary Lindsey, John Paul White of The Civil Wars, and Elvis Costello, while T-Bone Burnett is on board as producer. Actress Connie Britton sings the opening “Buried Under,” which smolders on a twang-rock foundation similar to Little Big Town's. As her younger adversary, actress Hayden Panettiere does a great job of playing Music City up-and-comer Juliette Barnes—and an even better job of making bubbly, post-adolescent country-pop in “Love Like Mine,” which blends Taylor Swift's boy-crazy sentiments with the grace and poise of Carrie Underwood. You can really hear Burnett’s rootsy touch in “If I Didn’t Know Better,” as sung by Clare Bowen.
