Customer Reviews

Derivative Control

Allow me to preface this review by stating that I am and continue to be a huge fan of both William Control as well as Aiden. Though “The Neuromancer” is another solid release from WC, the act is growing somewhat repetitious. The album begins and ends with the deep-voiced pseudo-poetry, moves forward into transient electronic buzzing, swirls and beats, and is driven by the dark, depressing, and occasionally sexually-themed vocals and background sounds (you know what I'm talking about). William seemingly borrows from himself in regard to style, but this is not the only notable discrepancy. The album also contains strictly electronic and piano-based tracks. With “Noir” WC explored a variety of musical outlets including electronic, poetry, rock, acoustic, and piano. He is a tremendously talented artist and should not limit himself to exclusively one or two musical styles per album. With all that said, there really isn't a bad track on the album; it's all simply beginning to blend together.

Cheers Will.

I have been a fan of Aiden from the very start and have continued following William as he morphed into Mr. Control. I was a bit nervous when he announced the mixing of this album and when he proclaimed that The Neuromancer was going to be his best album (I belived Hate Culture could not be topped) however......I have eaten my words. This release is even better then promised! Every song is perfection. The themes, lyrics, tunes, bass, his voice! This album is beatiful from biginning to end. I cannot wait to see him peform these on tour. Thank you will! Thank you very much.

WC Never Disappoints

If you are an already existing fan of William Control, then you know his track record is to improve on every album. This does not disappoint that expectation. It's amazing, from beginning to end. I can't pick a favorite song because they are all amazing. If you are just browsing and don't know if you like William Control, I would honestly suggest you download THIS record. If not this one, Silentium Amoris. The Neuromancer is amazing though, all the way through. Download it if you haven't already.

Biography

Genre: Electronic

Years Active:

For Aiden frontman Wil Francis, the chilly remove of the synthesizer has provided him with the perfect means to express his other sides. The dark synth-pop side project, William Control, is another persona entirely, both musically and literally. And his first album in character, HATE CULTURE, served mainly as an outlet for Francis’s personal turmoil, whether it is from his battles with drugs, the death of friends, or his own suicidal impulses.
