Rickie Lee Jones is the whole package!

Another long time fan of Rickie Lee Jones. I've been listening since the beginning. She is one of those artists that I count the minutes until I get her new music in my hands. The New Orleans influence is clear on this one. I'm really enjoying it and have found myself going back and listening to it again and again. All of her music seems to have that effect on me. What I have noticed over the years is that her live performances really demonstrate what an artist she really is. Each song has a life of its own and the audience response to her songs is amazing, especially the obvious attachment people have to specific songs from her catalog. Her music hits you in the soul like no one else. Listen to this one on repeat and go see her when she plays your town!

The Soul of an Artist

She has always been great. Now we see the girl back to the rock/blues of Louisiana.
The Other Side of Desire…so much going on there.. "Better be careful" indeed.

Shivers N Tingles

There are some artists that can be understood/FELT whether your familiar with the language or not…..So much feeling…..Last song, "finale: (a spider in the circus of the falling star)" is entrancing. Can't wait her on tour.

Most of her commercial success came at the outset of her career, but a restless creative spirit -- combined with a stubborn refusal to fit comfortably into any one musical niche -- sealed her ultimate destiny as that of a highly regarded cult heroine. Jones was born on November 8, 1954, in Chicago, but the volatile relationship between her mother and...
