Give this a listen

My friend's brother is the bass guitar player for this band. I have to say, i never heard of this band but he told me about them and i tried listening to them and it was good. (Runon sentence)

more like an even tan

The Close's Sun, Burn contains all the ingredients for a good record: solid musicianship, decent lyrics, charming boy/girl harmonies and subtlety. Even still, I wish I could stuff all those ingredients in a jar and just shake the living hell out of them because, as a whole, the album has a tendency to come across as overly subdued and a little on the sterile side. That’s too bad because, individually, most of the tracks are enjoyable. Featuring psychedelic organs, moody vocals and, at times, a vaguely apparent Decemberists-like quality, each of the album's nine tracks should contain enough substance to satiate slightly less-discerning indie kids. But, because the vast majority of the album rarely deviates from mid-tempo realm, tracks tend to blend together, and otherwise stand-out tunes like, "Sun, Shine" and "The Penny Jar," get lost in the fray. Meanwhile, "Cookie Crook" and "Ria's Bluebird," have no problems making their presence known and serve as exceptionally strong closing tracks. Although less of a sunburn and more of an even tan, The Close serve up a mostly rocking, if slightly unbalanced record.
