iTunes Review

Since the ‘90s, Rita Springer has brought a personalized touch to the worship genre by adding a delicate yet passionate musical sensibility and a tinge of mysticism to her hosannas, framing them in visionary lyrics and stirring tempos. The Playlist pushes this approach further by stretching out its melodies and widening its dynamics. “Over I Go” matches a deliriously buoyant tune with a sense of spiritual surrender that’s both joyful and enraptured. “Falling” invokes a sense of divine communion, while “Make You Happy” offers a burst of celebratory rock energy. Springer’s vocals radiate a Spirit-filled commitment, whether applied to meditative piano-based balladry (“The Whisper”) or vibrant gospel-rock settings (“Made for This”). The album’s most arresting track is “This Blood,” a dramatic invocation of the Passion and Resurrection of Christ that recalls Johnny Cash’s later work. Springer has a real talent for infusing praise music with individuality without losing its vertical focus. The Playlist doesn’t disappoint as a worship experience or a heartfelt artistic statement.

Unique, Incredible, Refreshing...

The Playlist is an incredible release from Integrity Music. Rita Springer is a first class artist and worshipper. The sounds in this album are unique and yet strangely familiar. Listening to this album for the first time is like seeing an old friend for the first time in a long time... the conversations your are a part of are comfortable but entirely new. The Playlist is one of the best releases in the Christian music world this year. A richness and depth lies within the lyrics, the melody and the instrumentation that is often unseen on an artist's first release with a label. Springer's professionalism and experience shine through the meaningful conversations The Playlist invites us all to be a part of.

Been waiting for this album!

It's nice to buy a worship album that doesn't feel like the same thing as everything else!

Not Consistent

The great thing that God does through Rita is bring you to a broken place of worship or high praise. Her voice combined with her keyboard playing are so powerful in her songs in the past. This albulm seems to have a lot of mixed background sounds and the only songs that seem like what Rita has done so well in the past through praise and worship - are Make you Happy and You Are My Hallelujah along with This Blood. The other songs, well just seemed odd. Nice, but odd. God bless!
