iTunes Review

"Arguably the two best Roc-A-Fella affiliates not named Jay-Z, Philadelphia MCs Beanie Sigel and Freeway have weathered a seemingly never-ending supply of label drama, industry beefs, and police intervention, and despite the overwhelming odds against them, they're still going strong. Though they've worked together on numerous projects in the past, The Roc Boys is their first official release as a duo, with multiple assists from longtime co-conspirators Young Gunz, State Property, and Jakk Frost. Despite being put out on a small indie label, and produced by obscure beatmakers (The Batkave, Main Event West, Isiah Salazar), there's still some substantial heat on here, especially for fans of relentlessly hardcore east coast street rap. Be sure to peep the dramatic bravado of ""The Last Two,"" the throwback funk swing of ""Live In Effect,"" and the Jiggaman diss track ""Average Cat.""

4.5 out 5 broad street bully

the broad street bully iz back yeah these philly katz let the world know what jay-z messed up with real rap/hard lyrics with a touch of a philly cheese steak...(camden's finest pooh'we)

Biting the hand that fed you...

Both these cats are dope but Jay never did them so dirty that they had to get it in like this.

Too many Jay-Z brown-nosers

He's good, but really, Beans is definitely more talented. But this album is still kinda pathetic. They need to get over Jay already. He's not going to respond to any of this. Probably because he's scared he'll get Ether'd again.

Philadelphian rapper Beanie Sigel had a rapidly rising career, beginning with his appearance on one of underground rapper/producer DJ Clue?'s mixtapes, to his cameos on Jay-Z's Vol. 2: Hard Knock Life, to a consequent solo deal with Roc-a-Fella Records. His distinctive, slightly drawling delivery and his clever but hard-hitting rhymes were showcased on his debut album, 2000's The Truth, which featured contributions from Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek, Eve, and Scarface, and production by the Ruff Ryders' Swizz...
