It's not 2001

Give it up. This band is better now than ever. Crisp, energetic, mature and slick.
These are the same idiots who say DMB was better in '95. You can't be a stoned college student forever. Stop it, you've been stunting this band's growth for a decade.

Say what you will

Say what you will about how their sound has changed and how they have mellowed out, but I think that their new stuff has a lot more meaning. Their old stuff is still great and I love it, but their new stuff is great too and I love it as well.

Returning to Their Roots

This is exactly what O.A.R. needed: to return to the sound that gave them their success. Since I became a fan so long ago, I've seen them slide ever so slightly off track from their original music, but this album brought them right back on track. Obviously I have yet to hear the rest of the songs, but the 3 that have been released so far sound like the O.A.R. I came to love!

O.A.R. (an acronym for the band's full moniker, Of a Revolution) transformed itself from an independent college band to a Billboard chart-topper over the course of a long, varied career. First, two of the band's demo recordings were hawked on university campuses. Then, news spread about the band's roots rock and reggae-inflected songs, which owed much to the jam band genre.
