Customer Reviews

I have been a Sam Harris Fan Since Star Search . . .

I'm so glad that he is finaly releasing his music on iTunes. When it is time to update my library I always search for Sam Harris's music. His voice is one of a kind. I always use his voice to compare what is good and great. I own all of his albums and will purchase this one when I'm done here writing this review. I have met him two times my opinion he is very humble and down to earth for the talent he has.Look for him on The Class TV series he is also a decent actor.

Sam Has Finally Found His Voice

I remember Sam from the Star Search days and the overblown, down on your knees ear shattering crescendos that some liked and others ran from as fast as they could. On this record, he has finally gained control of this beautiful and powerful voice, and knows when its time to belt and when its time to be soft and beautiful. I've been waiting for this since the 80's and its now time to gobble this record up. It is Sam mature and vulnerable, powerful and open, a perfect balance. My favorites are Get Here (like everyone else), the Rose and the First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. If you like people who can actually sing, as in hold a note and emote through their voices, this is your CD.

The attention led to a record deal with Motown and the release of a self-titled debut in late 1984, including songs by Rita Coolidge and Bruce Roberts. Still drawing on the momentum of his Star Search win, Harris saw the...
