It's a Keeper

A great album by two great artists who's voices sound beautiful together.

"Will This Be My Summer of Love" has a wall of sound quality reminiscent of Phil Spector. "If you Go I'll Melt" is a beautiful heartbreaker and "The Way You Remember Things" is a great edgy rocker. But the highlight is "Noblesse." Amy Allison's vocals and the extended guitar at the end are flawless. This is a great album.

Amy Allison may be the daughter of jazz/blues legend Mose Allison, but the New York-based singer/songwriter is a pure country chanteuse known for her oddly distinctive voice (think Victoria Williams or Kate Jacobs) and gut-wrenching songs. She started her performing career in the late '80s, playing such well-known New York City roots music venues as the Rodeo Bar backed by her longtime band the Maudlins.
