Brilliant!!

Never having heard a Kate Bush album in my life, a friend lent me her copy of this album and I immediately started combing the music stores for everything she recorded. The music on this album is not merely about sensuality; it explores themes such as personal loss and sadness, obsession, relationships and love in its many forms. The standouts: "Rocket's Tail" an explosively erotic number, and I dare anyone to dispute its sexual symbolism, "This Woman's Work", possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written, and "Reaching Out" a vocally and lyrically powerful work about life patterns. It isn't surprising that artists like Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlin and Maxwell have been inspired by her work. She is a true original, an artist driven by a uniquely powerful muse. Now my only question is: When will iTunes feature her greatest album: "The Dreaming"?

Great work, but not her best

I was introduced to Kate Bush by a friend in the mid to late 80s with her album "Hounds of Love", which is still, by far, my favorite of her releases. "The Sensual World" has some great tracks on it (most notably "This Woman's Work" which I first heard on in the 1988 feature film "She's Having a Baby") However, this album as a whole does not have the emotional impact and cohesiveness of "Hounds of Love".

For those who like the song "This Woman's Work", I'd also suggest "Hello Earth" from her Hounds of Love album and a duet she recorded with Peter Gabriel - "Don't Give Up".

Wow!

I had never heard any of her songs until CBS used 'This Woman's Work' in the CSI Season 8 promo. I was pleasently surprised that almost all of her songs were just as good!
