Forward Looking

Discovered this fine group from my neck of the woods in Nashville on the iTunes Nashville Indie Spotlight compilation. Blue Hotel has the potential to be one of my favorite tracks of the year, but each song on this album contributes to the whole in its own respects. Hangover, Give Up The Ghost, and Looking Around are a treat to begin an album with, and the tracks immediately hook the listener into savoring the diverse songs that KTSOS has to offer in the remaining 75% of the album.

My only critique would be this, I understand the purpose of reverb in giving some ethereal, extraterrestrial texture to the music, but I perceive the concept behind The Shape, The Color, The Feel to be of this world, not somewhere else. And often times the reverberation in many of tracks can often be distracting.

However, Kate Tucker’s vocals are a welcome joy that’s added to the wonderful accompaniment of the rest of the ensemble. I’d love to see this group break into the limelight, but for now, their presence in Nashville seems enough.

liked the cd with vinyl

I saw this band play in Ohio and bought the album. The band sounded just as good live as on record. Blue Hotel is my favorite song on the album and the guitars sound amazing.

Rising Star

I have listened to this album over and over and found the songs really get into your head. Songs like Hangover and Looking Around have very poignant lyrics and the Sons of Sweeden have a sweeping sound that sounds familiar and new. Highly recommended!

The Seattle-based songwriter's career has been buoyed by the inclusion of her music on more than one...
