Such beautiful, haunting stuff. Get's under your skin and into your heart. Love it!

makes the whole world crazy

This album speaks from the pit of the chest- cathartic, haunting, beautiful. Like a lamp in a den, Lovett's music simultaneously reveals, relieves and heightens fears we try to keep hidden in the dark. Download this album, put it on your ipod, slap on your headphones, take a walk and watch the whole world go crazy.

As If Wandering in a Circus of Quiet, Desperate Wonder

Playful, mystic and hypnotic, Ben Lovett's score for the metaphysical horror 'The Signal' seduces with a light touch, its tender blend of eerily romantic themes and eclectic composition illuminating the underbelly of the spiritual. As if wandering in a circus of quiet, desperate wonder, the songs conjure images of the macabre that yet convey an undeniable beauty. Existential questioning made manifest in each track, the score marches with its own little drummer boy roll of waltzes, African drum beats and Latino-influenced acoustics, a cultural mélange that elevates the score to the transcendent. With these mesmerizing melodies, Lovett crafts a layered and invigorating work, challenging as it forces its listener to question personal demons. Soothing in the same manner as a lullaby, Old Podrida's 'Atmosphere' adaptation plays a welcome reprieve to the thought-provoking notions of Lovett's work. Undemanding in its lyricism and loveliness, the song offers a glimmer of hope at the end of the long, dark tunnel which is the film, and which at times, can be a life.
