Lost pop rock classic from a musical genius

Seems reviews on iTunes are nearly unanimous. There's so much love for everything, it's hard to believe a review when it says "this is great".

But this is great. This album is truly a lost classic. It's incredible to me that anything this good could fly under the radar and then disappear, mostly forgotten.

The production is top notch, the songs are excellent throughout. If you're a fan of Weezer, the Cars, Fountains of Wayne, anything that's really good power pop, Owsley will astound you. I purchased it on a lark, and it hasn't left my playlist or car CD deck for years. It's that good.

This album should have been #1 on Billboard's top 100.

[ Wow. .... As I write this review, I'm just doing a Google search to see where this release actually did chart, and I see that Will Owsley died last night (suicide). Incredible. Deeply saddened by this... ]

A Fantastic CD - a tragic ending

If I was stranded on a desert island and could take only 1 cd - this would be it!!! I love this CD from start to finish. Truly one of the best I've ever owned.

I was saddened to hear of Will Owsley's death this May, especially saddened because we will hear no more music from this truly gifted man.

Thank you for this wonderful record

Rest now Will. You left behind so much beautiful music. People will be listening to this record 50 years from now, mark my words. All peace to you.

In the wake of the Semantics' breakup and assisted by proceeds from his stint with Grant, he built a home studio and turned to recording his debut solo LP, crafted over a four-year period. Credited to simply Owsley, the self-titled LP appeared on Giant in 1999. The Hard Way followed on Lakeview...
