Album Review

The Sky of Mind was his debut from 1983. The current version features new arrangement of the six pieces, which are classically inspired and heartfelt, performed on both acoustic and electronic instruments. The radiant compositions also make for ideal morning listening, with Tibetan bells connecting the pieces, and its emotional nature paving the way for a true musical journey — a classic example of the genius of Ray Lynch. ~ Backroads Music/Heartbeats, Rovi

One the Best!

One of the most beautiful collections of meditative music I've ever come across. Classically structured, the music is both both tranquil and dramatic at the same time. An extraordinary journey of Ray Lynch's musical talents unfolds in this memoralbe album. Enjoy!

Don't Change a Good Thing

Though the music is good, I do not like it as much as the original. Lynch's "Pavane", which I first heard on a movie for Talbot, actually brought me to tears because it was so beautiful. This new version is... okay. I think they should have never changed it.

I'm one of the first 3 yay!!

I love Lynch and although I have not heard the music on this album I can definitly say it is categorized with his best music because it is also New Age beauties like his Deep Breakfast album. I would say that if you are a fan of Lynch or just a beginner then you should try this music and see if ya like it. It might not be his best but it's still the same lynch and no differences in the type of music played so it couldn't hurt to try it!!

Though he's one of the most influential artists in "new age pop" and adult alternative circles, Lynch has extensive formal music training. Inspired by Andres Segovia's classical guitar recordings, Lynch studied the instrument in Barcelona, Spain, in the early '60s. He later attended the University of Texas as a composition student. Toward the end of the decade, Lynch moved to New York and became a fixture in the city's "early music" scene as a lutenist with Renaissance Quartette. A period of personal...
