Not original, but a really good job!!

It's quite obvious that these are not the "original" Duprees recordings that you remember hearing back in the 60's, or on your favorite oldies radio station. Then again, no one was claiming that these were originals. This is actually an album of all new recordings featuring the current members of the Duprees, which I believe are Tommy Petillo, Tony Testa, Jimmy Spinelli, and Phil Granito. Based on what I've read, this CD was recorded to commemorate the group's 50th Anniversary. It features newly recorded versions of several of their classic hits (as they perform them today) along with the group's wrenditions of some other great tunes! The group has done a really good job on this album as they have done on all their albums in recent years. As a DJ, music collector, and Duprees fan, I'm very happy to be adding this album to my collection! Although I will always miss the great voice of the original lead singer "Joey Van", and I do still miss the lead vocals of the Richie Rosato (who performed and recorded with the group for many years), the current Duprees lineup does a really nice job of entertaining the listeners, keeping the golden oldies music alive, and re-creating the sounds of the original Duprees! I highly recommend this music to everyone!!!

Their New Jersey street-corner roots were still audible in their doo wop harmonies, giving their treatments of moldy oldies enough of a contemporary flavor to compete in the rock and pop marketplace. They were very good at what they did, and in...
