Best new Christmas song in a long time!

"Wrap This One Up" is the best new Christmas song I've heard in a long time!

Insufficient words to describe...but I'll try

If I had to select someone to sing the soundtrack to my life since my college years and to my family's life since I married my wife 18+ years ago, it would be Christy Nockels (and her husband Nathan). This album is a little different from a standard Christmas album in that it is intended to be a "song cycle" - in other words, listen to it from beginning to end (she said this in one of her podcasts), rather than listening in any order you want. Trust me, the album is magical when listened to this way. "Song in the Air" has some amazing harmonies and you'll hear plenty of Christy's signature ethereal sounding notes AND full-out belting to the Lord moments. Our 12 year old son has already memorized the words to "Amaryllis" (previewed on her podcast) and has been talking all week about this album coming out on November 4 (his 12 1/2th birthday).

The last thing I'll say is that Thanksgiving is my wife's favorite holiday and we aren't usually allowed to listen to Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving...that may not be true with this album though!

Best Christmas album out there!

Christy's voice is so georgeous on this album! This isn't a traditional Christmas album, but a worship album centered around the birth of Christ. So beautiful, thank you Christy!

About Christy Nockels

Contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Christy Nockels was born in Ft. Worth, Texas and raised in Oklahoma as the daughter of a pastor and a piano teacher. She met her future husband and musical collaborator, Nathan Nockels, in 1993 at a Christian artists seminar. The two married in 1995 and began writing the songs that would make up their debut album, Holy Roar, recorded with longtime friends Charlie and Kimber Hall and released under the billing Sons and Daughters.

Upon relocating back to Texas, the duo was championed and eventually signed by Rocketown Records, a small label owned by Grammy Award-winning CCM artist Michael W. Smith. They relocated again to Nashville in 1998 and formed the highly successful Watermark, releasing five albums that resulted in both significant chart success and a handful of Dove Awards. In 2009, Christy launched a solo career with her debut album, Life Light Up, on Six Steps Records. Into the Glorious, her follow-up album, arrived in 2012 and reached number two on Billboard's Christian Albums chart. After 2015's live offering Let It Be Jesus, Christy returned to the studio to record her third album, The Thrill of Hope, which was released on the Nockels' own imprint, Keepers Branch Records. In 2017 she delivered the full-length Be Held: Lullabies for the Beloved, featuring songs that originated as lullabies sung to her own children. ~ James Christopher Monger
