EDITORS’ NOTES
“Holy Father, we need to talk/I have a secret that I can’t keep.” Though it’s the first line of the fiery standout “HIM,” it’s a sentiment that sets the tone for The Thrill of It All, a diary-like album that has all the power and intimacy of a confession—as well as the catharsis that follows. Smith’s voice sounds as impressive as ever throughout. “Burning” is a spare, piano-led ballad inspired by the personal struggles that accompanied his breakthrough success. “Pray,” another gospel-informed stunner, soars with an uplifting choir and handclapped groove courtesy of Timbaland.

Ratings and Reviews
Jude Law is impressive
I’ve enjoyed his many films, but he has surprised me with his debut under the guise and moniker of this lad named Samuel.
SAM IS BACK
I haven’t really listened to Sam much until “To Good At Goodbyes” came out but he is AMAZING. I can’t wait for this album!! He is so talented and I love his music so much!!
Pray - WOW
I am on the train heading in to work weeping listening to “Pray” for the first time. It is an incredibly honest and pain-filled song that I can really relate to. With all the hate in the world, this song plays to the common thread in us that says “I don’t know what to do and I may not know what I believe, but I’m gonna pray anyway.” Incredibly powerful.
