WHAT THE HECK?!!?!!!!!?

AL JOLSON IS A GENIUS!!! As an iTunes contributer, I am SHOCKED to see only 1 review for the the one of the greatest singers of all time! I am fifteen and I love listening to vocal jazz as well as Heavy metal, rock, and country. People are too busy listening to Miley cyris and the Jonas brother junk too hear the classic artists. Al Jolson=*****

What A Deal

Forty Al Jolson tracks for ten bucks. This is absolutley fantastic! Every song you ever heard on Looney Toons and Tom and Jerry is here. Enjoy.

Almost Too Good To be True

This is a great collection from a musical legend - and visionary - from nearly a century ago! We are blessed to have such good recordings of his earlier work to give us an insight and authentic taste into an age of music, stage and vaudeville long gone. These songs brings the best of what that long ago era had to offer. And I don't care what your favorite music is, you can't help but tap your feet and feel good listening to Jolson belt out one of his show-stopping, signature tunes like "California, Here I Come!," and "Swanee River." No, not every tune is great, some are a bit corny or over-the-top, more the pop tunes of the times and sometimes limited by technology. But, hey, except for the Beatles, it's hard to think of any performer whose every work was fantastic and satisfying. So listen to this, enjoy the many tunes that are still as vibrant and solid today as they were when great-grandma was a kid. Listen to the songs that say the same things Avril Lavigne, Pink, Michele Bublé, Jay-Z and others sing about today. Understand that both music and the music industry today was built on the shoulders of giants like Al Jolson. Great collection.

In addition to releasing a string of successful records between 1912 and 1949, Al Jolson achieved pre-eminent stardom on Broadway, hosted several radio series, and became the first important figure of the sound-era of motion pictures. His performing style was brash and extroverted; he billed himself as "the world's greatest entertainer," and he was known for his slogan, "You ain't heard nothin' yet!"
