It's about time. I have the first five and was wondering when six would drop. Just bought it and listening right now. Thank you. When's seven coming?
6 year wait for Volume 6
And it was well worth the wait. The Return of the DJ series defined turntablism in the 90's and this latest installment does not disappoint. DJ JS-1 knocks out sucka dj's, DJ Itchy Ron shows what Canada has to offer, DJ Wicked puts you in a trance and DJ Irie spells it out for ya. Each and every track is top notch and I can't recommend this album more. Any fan of turntablism or anyone who loves & repects hip-hop culture will appreciate this release. Bomb Hip-Hop does it again... booyaa!
10 strong turntablist tracks, no filler.
The opening sample of the phrase "I'm a crazy fresh silly DJ" says it all as Dr. Jones cuts it up on the intro Business As Usual. On the song Transmittin', Rahzels' dj JS-1 one takes out dj's that bite. Patch Lunch gets funky on The Dude, yeah, as in the 98' movie The Big Lebowski. DJ Itchy Ron of Sweatshop Union lays it down on the uptempo Cheese Cuttin'. HOTSIVO features the 3FX Crew from Europe getting busy with the space sounds with a touch of d&b thrown in. Blendoffendaz (feat. dj's from the UK & Australia) chops it up on track 6 called Half Cut. Portlands DJ Wicked gets trippy with Hypnosis, a song that will memorize you. Damn, The Beat by DJ T-Rock includes some cool guitar riffs and straight ahead scratching. DJ Agent 86 follows up with track 9, The Ultimate, a track with plenty of vocal samples and scratching. The album ends appropriately with Knucklehead DJ's by DJ Irie. 10 strong turntablist tracks, no filler.
