iTunes Review

After an extended hiatus, bandleader Joshua Homme brings Queens of the Stone Age raging back to life on …Like Clockwork, a set of songs propelled by a bash of drums, gnarled guitar, and brooding intensity. The album opens with an ominous mid-tempo warning, “Keep Your Eyes Peeled,” before launching into edgy, complex tunes like “My God Is the Sun” and “Fairweather Friends.” Even the album’s piano ballad, “The Vampyre of Time and Memory,” retains a black-hearted edge—like taking a rumble down Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in a muscle car.

...Like Clockwork!!!

Great first single "My God is the Sun". This band never follows a mainstream path because they always pave their own. Great Band. Great Music.
Long live Queens of the Stone Age!

Rock Album of the Year, If Not the Decade!

From start to finish this album delivers all that was promised and more. When I finished listening to it I felt floored; Majestic, vivid, entrancing, hypnotic, groovy, mysterious, creepy, and, ultimately, a masterpiece. I cannot recomend this album enough! Rock album of the year, if not the decade, HANDS DOWN!!

I never thought I'd see the day when Queens of the Stone Age wrote a piano ballad. But they did it. Twice. I Just wow. There aren't enough synonyms for "awesome" in the English language to describe the perfection that Josh Homme has built so beautifully on this album.
Thank you, QotSA, for being the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time.

Formed from the ashes of stoner rock icons Kyuss, Queens of the Stone Age reunited the group's singer/guitarist Josh Homme, drummer Alfredo Hernandez, and bassist Nick Oliveri along with new guitarist/keyboardist Dave Catching. The project's origins date back to Homme, who in the wake of Kyuss' 1995 demise relocated to Seattle to tour with the Screaming Trees; he soon began working with a revolving lineup of musicians including the Trees' Van Conner, Soundgarden's Matt Cameron, and Dinosaur Jr.'s...
