Simply Amazing.

This is probably one of the single greatest acoustic albums of all time. Think of a talented Dashboard or a less depressed Elliot Smith. This is a must have for everyone.


Lyically, unimaginative. But he tries, and in these days of acoustic-emo that's the important thing. He's a good guitarist and knows how to write music. However, it lacks motivation. He has all the story but none of the moral. There's no "aha" after a song just "cute story." He'll get there, he just needs to "feel abandon" more than he admits to in "The Wilderness." Real pain will bring real art and we'll just have to wait for it.

Long before he signed to Vibe Records and launched his recording career, Murphy grew up in Canton, OH, where he developed his singing voice as a member of the choir of his father's church.
