iTunes Review

Dominating the airwaves upon its 1995 release, The Woman in Me made Shania Twain a household name, popularizing her sleek pop-country sound and demonstrating her versatility as both a vocalist and songwriter. Abetted by husband/producer Mutt Lange (the two met and married during these sessions), Twain purrs, pleads, and scolds her way through tunes that alternate between thoughtful ballads, sassy stompers, and twang-filled rockers. Selling more than 20 million copies, this album marked Twain's arrival as one of country's biggest hitmakers.

A Toe-tapping Good Time!

Shania's self-titled album is traditional country. "Come On Over" has a touch of pop. This album is kind of in the middle. I especially like the songs "Any Man Of Mine" and "You Win My Love." But there is one song,"Leaving Is The Only Way Out," that's kind of sad. It's about having problems in a marriage and contemplating divorce. I don't like it very much. Still, I have to give her credit for the way the song stirs your emotions.

Not a "Country Fan" but I LOVE this album

This is one of my favorite albums to listen to, and I am a 32 year old man who loves hip hop and typically I despise country music. Don't tell my friends I'm admitting this, but something about this album touches my heart. I give it 2 thumbs (or 5 stars) WAY UP!

IMO her best album

I remember this music from when I was growing up in Hampton Cove, AL, and undeniably to me this is her best album. Every single song, from upbeat tunes such as Any Man of Mine and You Win My Love to slow ballads like Home Ain't Where His Heart Is Anymore, The Woman In Me (Needs The Man In You), and Raining On Our Love are just a bunch of all of the great songs on this album.

Emerging in the mid-'90s, Shania Twain became the most popular country music artist since Garth Brooks. Skillfully fusing mainstream, AOR rock production with country-pop, Twain and her producer/husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, created a commercial juggernaut with her second album, The Woman in Me. The record became a multi-platinum phenomenon, peaking at number five on the pop charts and eventually selling over nine million copies in America alone. Twain might have sold a lot of records, but like...
