Customer Reviews

Original, Positive, Energetic, Catchy..

Meaningful lyrics share the stage with pulse-pounding beats and wicked guitar riffs to create the sound on What They Died For's first album. This is your new playlist for working out as the band's passion and energy will undoubtedly get your amped up! However, this is not the kind of undynamic screamo that characterizes most of the bands in the heavy rock genre. Steve's soft-spoken narrative throughout the verses of songs like "New Situation" creates a contrast that makes the crescendos to the choruses more impactful. In addition, the band's chants in several of the songs are extremely catchy while at the same time being lyrically significant. The production quality is excellent with every track on here sounding tight. Bottom line: You need this album. It's music that reminds you how good life can be and that's a breath of fresh air in the otherwise stale and dark corridor of rock.

Something Diffrent But Good

The band has potential. The album has some solid songs and some that underpreform however
this is pretty normal for a bands first album as "what they died for" grows togeather i expect bigger
and better things as christian music adapts. Very good drumming i would like to see more of a RED sound

Worth Getting This Album

Musically the album reminds me of older P.O.D. with some erie vocal styles ala Marilyn Manson and Underoath. Steve's rap flow at times resembles Rage Against The Machine as well. Melodies are simple which makes it easy to sing along. Where the album shines are the lyrics. They are meaningful and explains the gospel and the struggles one goes through when living a life without God to then being redeemed by his mercy. If you like rap/rock/metal and want an album with a Christian message, buy this album.
