iTunes Editors’ Notes

The third solo set from legendary drummer Buddy Miles (Jimi Hendrix, Carlos Santana) is essential for any fan of soulful rock ’n’ roll. First, the hip-swiveling title tune testifies personal vicissitudes and shows why Buddy Miles might’ve been the greatest groove trapsman ever. As an underrated singer, he channels Otis Redding (“Your Feeling Is Mine”), pimps the soul fantastic (“Heart’s Delight”), and balladizes sweetly (“I Still Love You Anyway”). He takes us through the South on “Memphis Train” and bestows psych-out grooves upon Neil Young’s “Down by the River” and The Allman Brothers’ “Dreams.” And the blitzing Memphis Horns are everywhere on this overlooked 1970 release.

An unknown classic

Buddy Miles was a master of fusing Soul, Funk and Rock into his own style. It's a shame he doesn't get nearly enough credit.

Buddy Miles Discovery

I always knew of Buddy Miles, and I just downloaded this album. I can tell it's a great album with a mix of horns, good bluesy jams, and pop hits. Looking forward to listening to the entire album.

Them Changes

1970's in Western NY, (S.U.N.Y.). Buddy Mles and Sunday mornins' watching the ladies go to church as we sat waiting in our upstairs flat, for last nights trip to end. The blues , the soul and comfort of this LP was great company. His stuff with Henrix ain't bad either. Miles' version of Down By The River is mesmerizig and the best version I ever heard in my 64 years on this earth. Question is, what has happned to ole Buddy Miles anyway?
