iTunes Review

On his second LP, the gospel-inspired rapper talks about coping with fame. After his debut album, Mansion, reached the top 10 of Billboard’s US rap chart in 2015, Michigan rapper NF (born Nate Feuerstein) felt intense pressure to keep his stride. He opens Therapy Session with an earnest question: "I’m back, did anyone miss me? They said the second record could be tricky.” Feuerstein is known for his raw honesty and powerful pacing, and uses this album to weigh the dark sides of celebrity (including gruesome death threats) against his gratitude. “I get emotional, I didn’t plan this,” he confesses on “Intro 2." “I’m doing things I never imagined.”

Good lyrics, but repetition stifles album greatness

I enjoy much of this album/LP. I think NF has made some very good songs with messages that reach people in a very real way. There are some very catchy beats and compositions that are great. My main problems lies in the repetition of him making music. He seems to talk often about how making music is all he does. He talks about his music making abilities a lot and calls people out. Sometimes he seems a little cocky. Maybe not everyone senses that, but I felt that was the message, especially for the last few songs.
Overall, there are many songs I will listen to again, though my attention fades when NF begins spending so much time in his music talking about his music.

no words

all of those people who say he's "too dark" or "too angry" screw off. it's so hard to find an honest, passionate artist who uses music as a coping strategy. NF is emotional and that's what hooks everyone, the ability to relate and feel like they are not alone. Part of life is anger, rap that plays nowadays is more disgusting than anything NF has ever written. They're all about screwing girls and it's just degrading. NF is amazing, and he gets that he isn't like everyone else and that's what makes him great. Did you not listen to the album? he sees that some think he's too deep, but it's his right. keep doing you man, you inspire me every day

I Follow this guys music because Hes soooo Transparent, Humble, And Just Real. i can tell its holy spirit driven and i love It!!

NF is the stage name of rapper and composer Nate Feuerstein from Gladwin, Michigan. Feuerstein endured a hardship-filled childhood in which his parents divorced, his mother's boyfriend physically abused him, and his mother eventually killed herself. Music was his escape, and he began recording songs on a karaoke machine, with instrumentals on one microphone and his raps in the other. Placing second in a nationwide Fine Arts Festival rap competition in 2008, and first in Michigan the following year,...
