Cowboy was Scott Boyer & Tommy Talton's band - talented but obscure - & "Please Be With Me" was from their "5'll Getcha 10" record (1971) - good luck finding that on iTunes! Scott Boyer is singing, & Duane Allman is playing dobro, not slide guitar. Eric Clapton covered this song on 461 Ocean Blvd (& played the answer to Duane's dobro part himself). Cowboy was the backing band on "The Gregg Allman Tour" record (1974), with two of their best songs featured on side 2 (perhaps their last moment in the, er, spotlight).

This is a good album, but it's definitely not jazz! The name of the album - Southern Rock Gold - says it all. I recommend downloading "Ramblin' Man," " Sweet Home Alabama," and "Hold on Loosely." Happy listening :)

Jazz? I think not

This has some good ole classic southern songs if you're into that. On the song "Please Be With Me" by Cowboy, Duane Allman is playing slide guitar, can't tell if it's him singing. The song can also be found on the Duane Allman Anthology.
