Sara Gettelfinger, Kelly Levesque and Joy Kabanuck possess expansive voices well-honed in high-profile Broadway and operatic productions. With such stellar producers as Desmond Child, Walter Afanasieff and Mark Portmann on board, these divas should be able to summon forth real musical magic, and there are moments of grandeur among these immaculately-sung and lavishly-arranged numbers. The two songs co-written by the group display the most individuality — “I Wish” succeeds as a yearning power ballad, while “Don’t Let Me Forget” rides a rippling track and conveys palpable passion. “There Will Be A Time,” an idealistic aria, gives the Graces a chance to embroider the soaring melody with soulful melisma and operatic vibrato. ‘80s favorites “Against All Odds” and “These Dreams” are given new luster through Italian and Spanish-language interpretations. The Three Graces may best be approached as the soundtrack to the trio’s touring show, and a little magnificence goes a long way on this sumptuous if sometimes overwrought release.
