Your music is refreshing

I'm shocked your songs don't have more ratings. I hear the folk psychedelia often, but you guys do it so flawlessly. Plus I hear 'the Doors,'& 'Jefferson Airplane' in the chords. I really hope you stay around. Oh, and the young ladies voice brings a smile to my face. Thank you!

#16 album of the year for 2013

Originally from Tacoma, but now based in Brooklyn, Widowspeak bring us dark road weary Americana rock with dreamy vocals ala Mazzy Star. Their song, "The Dark Age" is one of my favorites of the year.

Playing dark, hazy music equally indebted to Mazzy Star's narcotic allure, country twang, and the jangle of Sarah Records-style indie pop, Widowspeak feature singer/songwriter Molly Hamilton and guitarist Robert Earl Thomas. The band's roots go back to Hamilton's time in the Tacoma, Washington music scene, where she and founding drummer Michael Stasiak contributed songs to a compilation label before heading to New York.
