Great writing, a sense of humor, and consistency characterize his work. As a vocalist and communicator in general, he is eminently likable. For ages three to eight.

Best Kids Album Out There!

My brother and I had this on cassette 20 years ago and listened to it over and over and over again. Now that I have my own child I had to seek it out and was overjoyed to find it on itunes. Entertaining for kids and adults -- a GREAT buy!

blast from the past

I grew up listening to Joe Scruggs and Raffi, and even as an Adult I still love their songs. "Goo goo ga ga" terrified me as a kid. Did anyone else see the video's they recorded for this album? Or am I crazy and imagining things?

At least one song on this album is great for kids

My 6 and 3 year old heard one song on this album called "go go ga ga" and it immediately stuck. I have not listened to the rest of the songs yet, but this one is awfully catchy.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Joe Scruggs' work has a relaxed "Texas" style that is at home in classrooms and living rooms alike. Joe was born in 1951, and attended the University of Texas in El Paso. He later went on to receive an MA through Texas Tech University. Joe started singing in folk groups in his Methodist church in the late '60s. He was heavily influenced by folk singers of the day.
