iTunes Review

A global rise in reggae's popularity crested with this stellar compilation. It opens with the sunny "Is This Love" before stretching out a live version of the beautifully melancholy "No Woman No Cry." Legend also boasts three songs that were recorded by The Wailers' original lineup, back when Bunny Livingston and Peter Tosh were in the band: "Stir It Up," "Get Up, Stand Up," and the outlaw hit "I Shot the Sheriff.”

Greatest Album Ever

Simply the greatest album ever.

Marley's best album!

What else is there to say? This is one of Marley's best albums, if not the best compilation of his music throughout his career. Sure, it's only a single album, and it would be impossible to fit ALL his works into a single album. But the selection here is a solid choice. This Deluxe Edition contains some extended versions. It also includes his (hard to find) fast-paced dance-version of Buffalo Soldier (the 1984 Mix). You will not find that version of Buffalo Soldier anywhere else. There is only one way for Apple to improve this album purchase.... and that would be to upgrade this album to an iTunes Plus 256kbps hi-quality album. This album is legendary, and it deserves being upgraded to a higher-quality high stereo quality iTunes Plus recording.

What can I say...

Just listen to his music. and you'll understand. (exodus makes me dance everytime I hear it...)

Reggae's most transcendent and iconic figure, Bob Marley was the first Jamaican artist to achieve international superstardom, in the process introducing the music of his native island nation to the far-flung corners of the globe. Marley's music gave voice to the day-to-day struggles of the Jamaican experience, vividly capturing not only the plight of the country's impoverished and oppressed but also the devout spirituality that remains their source of strength. His songs of faith, devotion, and revolution...
