At last! Been Waiting for this release for years

I saw this production and loved both the translation and the performances. (BTW, the text was used for the Mack the Knife movie.) I have the original LP release and put it on cassette and ripped it to digital off the turntable. But, I've decided to buy this remastered version to get the sound. Thanks.

Terrific Album

I bought this when it was on LP and have always had the deepest affection for this earthy translation of Brecht. I, too ripped the album to my Mac, but am very grateful the digital recording has finally come out.

I've heard many versions of the Threepenny Opera over the years (my dad had the 1954 Lotte Lenya album and played it often when I was growing up), but this is the one that I have loved the most, and always come back to - both the performances and the translated lyrics are superb. Very dark and haunting. I don't know why it never got a CD release. So glad it's on iTunes now!
