Album Review

After scoring a major pop-crossover hit with her 2013 album Gold, CCM star Britt Nicole continues to focus on the mainstream with her uplifting self-titled fourth LP. Released by Capitol in 2016, the deeply personal album finds Nicole in glowing dance-pop mode on this set of songs about love, change, struggle, devotion, and family. Lead single "Through Your Eyes," offers a bright and motivating meditation on faith that could just as easily apply to more universal themes of self-perception and positive change. Other songs, like "Fallin' in Love" and "Girls Night Out," are more squarely aimed at the pop market, though the overall effect is of a well-balanced crossover that doesn't feel too calculated.

Excellent Music but where is Christ and what about us guys?

I absolutely love the background music Britt did in this album... absolutely modern. I just have two major problems which made her lose 2 stars. There were only at most 4 songs in this album about God. What happened to the Britt Nicole I remember that sang The Lost Get Found? I used to love singer her songs like "have your way" and such but now it seems she more sold out to the public with love songs, songs about her baby and husband and having a "Girls night out". Not to mention the fact that majority of the album was oriented to girls. I know she considers her ministry to girls but come on. Some of us guys like her music too and with the Christian genre having limited modern music it isn't fair to exclude us. I'm okay with Christian artist doing a fun song here and there but if 70% of your album is secular lyrics should you even keep your genre as Christian/Gospel? This sounds to me like a money making affair. Anyway will I still be listening to this album? Yes! But I'm going to listen to it as a secular album and not Christian.

A True Inspirational Artist

I remember listening to Say It years ago. Ever since then I've been hooked on Britt's music!! This is once again a mind blowing collection of music that doesn't disappoint. The release cannot come sooner. I would highly recommend Britt's music to anyone as her music had brought me back to Christ years ago and I believe her music has that great outreach to those who are searching for something that they can't find. Her music points directly to God!!

Nailing it

Been a Britt Nicole fan since her song Believe. I love how she has brought her faith into pop music with fun beats and strong messages. Love the first two singles!
