Extremely New and Different!

I found this by just browsing one day and I knew that I had to have it. Some of the sample tracks don't do the songs justice, but most give a somewhat clear picture. I would mainly suggest giving a listen to "Tigh Sweater: III. Mara's Lullaby" and "Agu: III. You're Fake." They are very different and give some really cool twists on what can be done with a stringed insturment or piano, or both. A really nice album to do school work to or read a book, lounge to or entertain guests to. In closing, a simply fantastic album that takes classical music to a whole new level.

Good composer but this is not represenative of his talents

This seems to come from Mellits' emersion with the Bang on a Can gang. This set is top heavy in the minimal/hipster/world drone sound that has come to be associated with that ever so hip and ironic crowd. Still it's not bad and you wouldn't be put out by getting this, it's just not his best work. The titles may at least will make you laugh while you listen which might be the point. There are a smattering of his other offerings here on itunes and it would be in your best interest to get those first before delving into this set of tunes.
