psychedelic album!

This album is full of surprises. They have cutesy songs like “Bridge of Love” that have a 70s Carpenters feel to it. Then boom, the next track “I’m Wondering” makes you bob your head with the hip-hop drum beat and the wah-wah effect on the electric guitar. The background vocals makes it very psychedelic sounding like you’re stuck in a daydream. Each song is great and has its own personality. This is a very chill and happy album.

Basically a duo of Jon Fried and Deena Shoshkes (both of whom strum and sing), the Cucumbers came out of America's indie rock underground in the early '80s, showing an affection for infectious jangle pop overlaid with lyrics speaking of romantic uncertainty. After recording an EP for the Fake Doom label in 1983, the group released its first album, Who Betrays Me...And Other Happier Songs, two years later.
